Linda and Sons - Family Portraits and Surprise Proposal

Linda reached out to me inquiring about family portraits on the beach at Playa Mar Chiquita in Manatí, Puerto Rico. It would be her, her three adult sons, the oldest son's girlfriend, and the girlfriend's son. Surprise twist--the oldest son wanted to propose during the family photo session. Yes! I love a proposal surprise. I hatched a plan of how to do the transition. We started with group shots of everyone, then moved to smaller groupings, with the last grouping being the oldest son and his girlfriend. I had them stand back to back, giving him time to pull the ring out of his pocket and get ready. I took a few shots like that then told her to stay where she is and told him to take a step forward. That was his cue to turn around and get down on one knee. Once he was on his knee, I had her turn around. So fun!
