I planned outfits, a date, a location and got my family dressed up and out the door to take our family photos. It was really important to me to make these photos happen. I try and do this once a year. These kids change so much in one year! I love having these family photos to remember what they looked like through the years. Sadly, last year, I did not get my annual photo. You know that old saying, "The cobbler's kids have no shoes?" Anyway, that made it all the more important to make it happen this year. I wanted to shoot at the capitol building in San Juan. As it turns out, there was a wedding happening nearby which created a big traffic jam and I didn't allow extra time for traffic since I didn't think there would be traffic in that area. Silly me! We sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic trying to get to parking. I was watching the sun get lower and lower in the sky and hoping that we could still park in time to get pictures before all the light was gone. The stress! I ended up with about 10-15 minutes of shooting time before the sun was completely gone. Not ideal, but at least I got a few photos! Phew! In case you're wondering, I used a tripod for the family portrait. For the portrait of me, I set up the shot and had my husband push the button. So these are my precious people--husband Luke, son Devon (16), daughter Aria (14), and daughter Monet (12). Oh, how I love them.
