Jeff and Tayla met in high school but didn't start dating until several years later. They've now been together almost 8 years. He told me he couldn't imagine his life without her.
She correctly guessed that he would propose during their trip to Puerto Rico, but she was still surprised when the moment arrived. Jeff and I had discussed locations for the proposal and he ultimately chose a scenic viewpoint overlooking the water in Old San Juan. However, when I arrived at this location, I discovered it was barricaded off and under construction. So was the path along the water that I planned to take them along to shoot photos and arrive at our next photo stop. So.....pivot!
We moved the proposal spot to the fountain (Fuente Raíces) near the scenic viewpoint. I just acted like a tourist taking pictures of the fountain and what-not. When they arrived, she pulled out a cell phone to take a selfie, so I just casually asked if they wanted me to take a picture for them. So I took a couple pics on her phone and handed it back. He then got down on his knee and I started snapping away to catch the proposal. She was happy and excited about the proposal and they had their moment. Then she looks at me and back at him and asks, "Wait....did you hire her?" Haha. So fun to be in on the surprise. :)
